AptBridge Info Nexternal QOH Update (Nexternal connector/AptBridge vs. 2.1.0) AptBridge can send Quantity On Hand (QOH) information to Nexternal on a scheduled basis to help keep your Nexternal store inventory in sync with QuickBooks (as of the time of this writing, Nexternal Product information exchange is limited to QOH updates only). Once the process is set up for your account, on a scheduled basis AptBridge runs a job that takes the CURRENT AptBridge QOH information, and sends an “absolute” QOH update to Nexternal, based on product SKU. The Nexternal QOH is REPLACED with the information sent by the bridge. You can control which QB items are included in the update as follows: - in the AptBridge Product Manager Application (click on “Products” in the top menu), you can identify items included in the update by choosing the “Send QOH to Foreign System” checkbox and then clicking “Update” in the product detail screen. Note that in the product detail screen you can also see the “On Hand” quantity currently stored in AptBridge (see screenshot below).
Product Manager Application – Product Detail Screen - As AptBridge obtains the QOH information from your QuickBooks file, we have added a safeguard mechanism that will allow QOH data to be sent to Nexternal ONLY if AptBridge QOH information has been recently updated from QuickBooks (the bridge normally requests QB item/non-item inventory information every 24 hours; however, updates can only take place when you initiate a WebConnector session). You specify the window of time AptBridge QOH information is valid for Nexternal updates in the Bridge Options screen (choose “Tools” from the top menu, and “Bridge Options” from the Tools menu), in the “Foreign Inv Update Window (days)” field. The default value is one 24-hour period (see screenshot below).
Bridge Options Screen You can run a QB-to-Nexternal QOH update at any time from the Manual Transactions page (choose “Tools” from the top menu, then choose “Manual Transactions” from Tools menu) by choosing “InventoryUpdateRequest” from the messageType drop-down box, and press “Submit” (see screen shot below). Manually initiated product updates are subject to the same rules as specified above. Manual Transaction Request Page
